Block paving, tarmac, concrete and resin

Different surfaces need different methods. Block paving is jet washed and then re-sanded, because cleaning removes some of the old jointing sand. Tarmac needs lower pressure to avoid loosening the stones on the surface. Concrete and imprinted concrete can usually take higher pressure and may benefit from a fresh sealant coat. Resin-bound drives are cleaned gently with a surface cleaner and treated to remove algae. We’ll explain what we recommend before starting.

Removing oil, rust and stubborn stains

Oil stains are among the most common problems we’re asked about. We pre-treat them with a degreaser before cleaning, which lifts much of the stain. Very old or deep stains may not disappear completely, but they usually fade significantly. Re-sanding and sealing block paving

Sealing is optional, but we recommend it for block paving. Once the joints have been re-sanded with kiln-dried sand, a breathable sealer binds the sand, stops weeds and ants getting a foothold, and adds a slight colour boost. A sealed drive stays cleaner for longer and is easier to rinse down yourself between professional cleans.
