Patio and decking cleaning

Patios and decks are the heart of most gardens, and they are often the first surfaces to suffer. Patio cleaning removes ground-in dirt, black spot, lichen and moss, and brings back the original colour of the stone. On block paving and slabs we use a rotary surface cleaner, which gives an even finish without stripes and keeps spray under control. Decking needs a gentler approach: we use lower pressure and a timber-safe cleaner to remove green algae and make the boards less slippery, without raising the grain.

Soft washing for delicate surfaces

Not everything should be pressure washed. Render, painted walls, fences, sandstone and older brickwork can be damaged by high pressure. For these we use soft washing: a low-pressure application of a biodegradable cleaning solution that kills algae and lichen at the root, followed by a gentle rinse. The results keep improving for a few weeks after the clean as the remaining growth dies back.
